Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to stay on groomed tracks or can we go off trail?
There is tons of great groomed trails, but for those that are adventurous there are fun powder fields you can explore as well. For those that want to spend most of the day off-groom you should check out the Polaris Switchback or RMK sleds available.
Do I need to bring any of my own gear or is it available there?
The rental comes with helmet and goggles. Snow bibs, jacket and gloves are available for rental for $25/set. Please select the number of gear rentals you'd like as an "Add-On" in the checkout. You MUST bring your own winter snowboots that cover the ankle (i.e. no tennis shoes or normal hiking boots). They can be rented at Sportsman Ski Haus. No boots will result in a non-refundable cancellation.
How long is a half day vs. full day snowmobile rental?
Half day snowmobile rentals are 3 hours in duration and depart at 9AM or 1PM while full-day rentals are 6 hours and depart at 10AM.
How much does fuel cost?
You will pay for fuel based on how much you use. If you drive faster/harder/further you'll use more fuel. On average for half-day rentals people typically use 2-3 gallon of fuel which equates to ~$12 give or take a few bucks. Full-day rentals usually use 3-4 gallons which equates to ~$19 give or take a few bucks.
How old do I need to be to drive or ride on the snowmobile?
Drivers must be 18+ and provide valid ID. Passengers must be a minimum of 55" tall and able to reach the side rails. Just like rental cars, snowmobile renters must be 25+.
How do we ensure we don't get lost?
You will be provided with a map and thorough overview of the terrain you'll be riding. Additionally, vehicles are outfitted with a tracking device to be able to identify location if needed. Don't worry, we've got you covered!
