Rock climbing at Stone Hill near Lake Koocanusa is arguably some of Montana's best and most scenic climbing. Join our incredible guides for a full day of rock climbing in Montana Paradise. This location offers over 500 routes with sport, trad and multipitch climbing available. Our climbing season for this location runs from late May through mid October.

All experience levels are welcome. Our incredilbe guides will will put you on the right routes and customize their teaching to fit your ability level and goals for the day. The climbing ranges from mellow 5.6 to advanced 5.11 route.

How old does my child need to be to rock climb?
We have kids as young as three rock climbing. Kids are natural climbers and by the age of four or five you can see them make real progress. If the kids are climbing, the half day climb is probably the best option.
Why is it called Lake Koocanusa?
Koocanusa is a 90 mile long reservoir that spans from Montana to British Columbia. It's name comes from the first three letters from the KOOtenai River, and the first three letters of CANada and the USA.
Is this a good choice for advanced rock climbers?
While there are over 500 climbing routes at Stone Hill near Lake Koocanusa and something for all ability levels, this area offers tremendous climbing for those interested in trad and multipitch climbing too.
