Ready to get into the side country of the Whitefish Range in pursuit of those white, fluffy lines? This tour offers the ultimate backcountry ski adventure in Whitefish. Experienced skiers and split boarders are welcome. We'll use the lifts at Whitefish Mountain Resort to access out-of-bounds terrain, seeking out powder lines and off-piste skiing.

This is ideal for someone that has their own backcountry ski or splitboard equipment (skis, boots, board, poles), but looking for a guide to help them safely discover the many hidden gems around. Avalanche safety gear such as beacon, shovel and probe may be rented at an additional cost.

Your guide will meet you at the base of the resort to create a game-plan for the day. Ride the lifts up then head into the back country to ski down great lines. Then, skin back up to other descent points or to lifts that can help you gain more vertical before heading back out there.

Get an incredible workout, discover new backcountry lines that most people will never get to experience. Just want a half-day? Reach out about a discount for a shorter tour to leave you a few hours of resort runs.

Purchase of a ski lift ticket from **Whitefish Mountain Resort **required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I do this tour with just regular skis/snowboard vs. touring specific gear?
Unfortunately not. This tour is specifically for experienced riders that have ski or snowboard gear with skins that allows uphill travel to access fantastic terrain outside the boundaries of the resort.
Will I need to purchase a ski lift ticket for this tour?
Yes, you can purchase your lift ticket to Whitefish Mountain Resort HERE which will allow you to access the backcountry terrain where we'll be skiing. We'll use the lifts multiple times to get more vertical in for the day.
Is there avalanche danger where we'll be touring?
Anytime you leave the boundaries of the resort there is potential for avalanches. With that said, we select the terrain for the day based upon current conditions, avalanche forecasts, observations and we prioritize safety to ensure we're traveling in the backcountry in a way that will avoid our exposure to avalanche prone areas and bring you home safely.
