The Book Now, Pay Later option requires a 5% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. You will see this option during checkout. The remaining balance is automatically processed several days before the date of the first tour on your invoice. If your card is declined, your reservation will be canceled, but of course we will try to contact you to collect payment before cancelling your tour.
Can I pay in cash?
We require payment at the time of booking and do not accept cash. We accept all credit cards including American Express. Of course cash is great to tip your guides if you’re pleased with the service.

When are boat tours in Glacier National Park available?
Tourbase offers boat tours on Glacier National Park’s Lake McDonald, Many Glacier, Two Medicine and St. Mary Lake. Trips are available from May through September, with each lake varying slightly in the opening and closing dates. Typically Lake McDonald offers the longest season. Boat tours are operated by Glacier Park Boat Company.
What's the difference between your west side and east side Going-to-the-Sun Road tours?
We offer two distinctly different full-day GTSR experiences:
- West Side GTSR Guided Day Tour — 8 hours, departs from Columbia Falls/West Glacier, led by Glacier Institute naturalist guides in a transit van (max 13 guests). Starts July 1. Park pass required separately.
- Full-Day East Glacier & Sun Tour — 8 hours, departs Glacier Park Lodge at 8 AM, led by a Blackfeet Nation guide in an air-conditioned bus. Starts June 1. Park access is included.
The east side tour offers a unique cultural perspective on the park from the Blackfeet Nation — it’s a distinctly different experience from the west side route.
Do you offer private Going-to-the-Sun Road tours?
Yes! If you’re looking for a more personalized experience, we offer private sightseeing options on both sides of the park. Check out our West Glacier Private Sightseeing Experience, East Glacier Private Sightseeing Experience, and Polebridge & West Glacier Private Experience. If you’re not sure which is the best fit, reach out at 406-730-7898 or [email protected] and our team can help.
What guided hikes do you offer?
We offer several guided day hikes led by Glacier Institute naturalists — see our full guided hiking page for all options. Popular choices include:
- Avalanche Lake Guided Day Hike — 8 hours, 6 miles, 750 ft elevation gain, moderate. Runs June through October. Optional lunch add-on available.
- St. Mary Falls Guided Day Hike — 8 hours, 4 miles, 700 ft elevation gain, moderate. Seasonal. Optional lunch add-on available.
- Hidden Lake Guided Day Hike — Iconic Logan Pass hike with sweeping views of Hidden Lake. Seasonal.
- Going-to-the-Sun Road & Hidden Lake combo — Combines a guided GTSR drive with the Hidden Lake hike.
All guided hikes require a Glacier National Park entrance pass (not included).
Do you offer e-bike tours on Going-to-the-Sun Road?
Yes — we have two e-bike options:
- Group E-Bike Tour — Full day on GTSR before the road opens to vehicles (April 17–June 30). Departs Columbia Falls. Includes guide, transport, lunch, helmet, and bike insurance. Great for families — kids as young as 4 are welcome.
- Half-Day Camas Road E-Bike — Approximately 25 miles on Camas Road, runs after the road opens to vehicles (late spring through early fall). Ages 16+.
See our full e-bike tours page for current availability.
What should I know about your UTV rentals?
Our UTV rentals are self-guided adventures on trails near Hungry Horse, about 10 miles from West Glacier. We have 2-seater, 4-seater, and 6-seater options in half-day and full-day formats. The driver must be 18+. Fuel is not included in the rental, but there is a fuel station at the pickup and drop-off location, so refueling at the end is easy. Reservations require 48-hour advance cancellation notice.
Do I need a fishing license for the fly fishing tour?
Yes. Montana requires a fishing license for all anglers ages 12 and older. You can purchase one in advance at FWP.MT.gov or at local sporting goods stores near the park. Your guide will handle all gear and local knowledge — just bring your license.
We offer several fly fishing options on different rivers and lakes — see our fly fishing tours page for the full lineup.
Visiting Glacier National Park
Do I need a vehicle reservation to drive Going-to-the-Sun Road in 2026?
No — vehicle reservations for Going-to-the-Sun Road were eliminated for 2026. You can drive the full road without any advance permit or reservation. Logan Pass does have a 3-hour parking limit starting July 1, so plan your visit accordingly. See our Going-to-the-Sun Road guide for full 2026 logistics.
Is there a shuttle in Glacier National Park in 2026?
Yes, but it’s no longer free. Starting in 2026, the Logan Pass Shuttle is a ticketed service — tickets must be purchased in advance through Recreation.gov and are not available for purchase in the park.
The shuttle runs July 1–September 7, 2026. West side boarding is at Apgar and Lake McDonald Lodge (departures 6–11 AM); east side boarding is at St. Mary Visitor Center and Rising Sun (departures 6–10 AM). Note: the shuttle does not serve Avalanche Creek or Avalanche Lake in 2026. Learn more on the NPS Going-to-the-Sun Road page.
How much does it cost to enter Glacier National Park?
Entrance fees are set by the National Park Service and can change from year to year. For current pricing, visit the NPS Glacier fees page. You can purchase passes in advance at Recreation.gov or pay at the park entrance on arrival.
Most Glacier Tourbase tours require guests to purchase their own park pass separately — check the inclusions section on each tour page for details.
When does Going-to-the-Sun Road open each year?
The full road to Logan Pass typically opens in late June, depending on snowpack — the exact date varies year to year. Our west side guided tours start July 1; east side tours from Sun Tours start June 1. Check the NPS road conditions page for this season’s current status.
Booking Your Tour
I'm traveling with a group. Can you accommodate all of us?
The tour I want isn't showing availability.
What is your cancellation policy?
Do I get fully refunded if I cancel my tour?
Yes — as long as you cancel before the window listed on your specific tour page, you’ll receive a full refund. Please note that the 5% Book Now, Pay Later deposit is non-refundable regardless of when you cancel.
I'd like to book your Going-to-the-Sun Road tour, but the date I want isn't available. What options do I have?
We have several great ways you can experience the gorgeous and scenic Going-to-the-Sun Road. The most popular driving tour is the 8-hour Full Day GTSR tour that departs at 8AM from Columbia Falls and West Glacier. If you’re interested in seeing Going-to-the-Sun Road AND incorporating a leisurely hike to the Hidden Lake Overlook (1.5 miles each way) you might find more availability with our Going-to-the-Sun Road & Hidden Lake tour. If you are tight on time, there is a half-day GTSR tour from Apgar Village, but it often books out months in advance. Your best chance for finding more availability is departing from East Glacier on the Full Day GTSR & East Glacier Tour or there is also a half-day tour leaving from St. Mary as well.
If you’re still struggling to find availability, we suggest renting a UTV for an evening drive up GTSR on your own or booking a guided hike on Avalanche Lake or the Highline Trail that will allow you to see the west side of GTSR up to Logan Pass from West Glacier.
I'm having trouble completing my checkout online. What should I do?

Preparing For Your Tour
What if I didn't receive a confirmation email?
Once you have booked your tour and we have received all of the necessary information from you, you will be emailed a confirmation with a voucher attached. The voucher is what you need to print and take with you, or have pulled up on your phone, as it contains your detailed meeting instructions. If you have not received a confirmation email within 24 hours of booking your tour please use the chat feature and ask it to send you your voucher. Alternatively, you can call us at 406-730-7898.
Is transportation provided?
Will the trip still operate if it is raining?
Our tours operate rain or shine. The weather near Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley is difficult to predict and changes quickly. Always be prepared for wind or rain, just in case! With that said, safety is our guide’s first priority. If weather conditions are unsafe, the trip will be canceled, and we will provide a refund. This typically only happens with severe weather or lightning but can also occur for other acts of nature.
Will my tour get cancelled if there is bad weather?
I'm having issues logging into my account to see my booking. What should I do?
