Frequently Asked Questions
How long does this trip last?
This trip lasts between 3 hours depending on the time of year and conditions. In early season (May and early June) the water is running high and trips move quicker with less paddling. In the late season (July-Sept) the water levels are lower and the float takes more time.
What river will we be rafting on?
The scenic float is on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. You'll float 5.5 miles from West Glacier to the Blankenship Bridge on the park's southwesternmost point.
Is the meeting point in Glacier National Park?
The meeting point for this tour is NOT inside Glacier National Park (no park passes required) and this stretch of river creates the southern boundary of the park. As a day activity, you should consider this a part of the Glacier National Park experience, but for travel planning purposes you will technically remain outside of park boundaries for the entirety of the trip. The Middle Fork of the Flathead River, along with the South and North Forks, are each nationally recognized Wild & Scenic Rivers, totaling three of five designations in the state of Montana.
Will we get wet on the scenic float?
While you'll mostly be staying dry on the scenic float your feet will get wet and you might get a splash or two when going through some riffles. Tell your guide if you want to stay as dry as possible.
