Lower St. Mary Lake is also popular and easily accessible from the St. Mary Village. Enjoy epic views of the rocky mountain front and into the picturesque St. Mary Valley.

Our knowledgeable staff will provide you with all the necessary equipment, including paddles, life jackets, and life vests, ensuring that you have a safe and enjoyable experience. They can also give recommendations for top areas to kayak.

Important Information

  • Glacier National Park - Glacier National Park watercraft regulations can be viewed online HERE.
  • Pickup - Kayaks will be ready for pick up in East Glacier Park. You are responsible for the transport of your own equipment. Kayaks fit in the bed of most trucks or we can help you strap them to the roof of your vehicle.
  • Delivery - You may request a drop-off and pick-up service for an additional cost to areas within close proximity of East Glacier Park.
  • Inspection - All watercraft going into local waters require a watercraft invasive species inspection for $10. This will be completed prior to your arrival and a fee will be included at checkout.
  • Local Recreation/Conservation Permits - While recreating within the Blackfeet Nation you are required to carry a permit. A $20/person permit must be before purchased online.

How long is a half-day rental?
Half-day rentals are 4-hours long while a full-day rental is 8-hours long. Kayaks and stand-up-paddle boards must be back before 5PM.
Where should we take the kayaks?
We recommend nearby Lower Two Medicine Lake whicy you can access from the Red Eagle Campground. You'll have incredible views into the park and the northwestern end of the lake is actually in Glacier National Park which means no fishing license required! Open in Google Maps
What is the inspection fee?
The purpose of this inspection is to prevent the spread of these harmful non-native species, which can cause significant damage to the native aquatic ecosystems.
Where is the pick up location?
The pickup location is located in East Glacier Park, MT. East Glacier is about 40 miles from St. Mary and 55 miles from West Glacier.
What is a Blackfeet Recreation Permit?
This permit is required for all recreational activities within the Blackfeet Nation located outside the boundaries of Glacier National Park. The permit is $20 and must be purchased online before your trip at https://blackfeet.nagfa.net/new-online/
