Description
Paddle the most iconic lake in Glacier National Park with a Lake McDonald kayak rental. Available as a single or tandem kayak, rentals launch directly from Apgar Village, giving you easy access to one of Montana's most breathtaking bodies of water.
Lake McDonald stretches 10 miles through the park's western valley, framed by jagged peaks, dense cedar forests, and the colorful mosaic of stones that line its glacially carved floor. The water is remarkably clear, and on calm mornings the surface mirrors the surrounding mountains.
Each rental includes a kayak, paddle, personal floatation device (PFD), dry bag, and a wheeled dolly to transport your kayak to the water. The 4-hour rental gives you plenty of time to explore at your own pace: hug the shoreline near Apgar, push toward the middle of the lake for panoramic views, or find a quiet spot to swim and relax.
No kayaking experience is necessary. This is a self-guided rental and a great option for independent adventurers who want the freedom to explore on their own schedule inside Glacier National Park.
