Description

Begin an unforgettable Montana adventure with our full-day fly fishing excursion on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. This guided trip offers the perfect balance of excitement and tranquility, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Glacier National Park. Whether you are a seasoned angler or brand new to the sport, this experience is designed for all skill levels, giving you the chance to refine your technique, learn new skills, and immerse yourself in one of Montana’s most scenic river systems.

Led by expert guides, you will spend the day exploring the pristine blue-ribbon waters of the Flathead River, home to native trout species such as Western Cutthroat, Rainbow Trout, and Mountain Whitefish. With more time on the water than a half-day trip, you will have the opportunity to cover longer stretches of river, stop at prime fishing holes, and enjoy a filling and hearty riverside lunch. As you drift downstream, your guide will share valuable insights into casting techniques, river reading, and the history of the area, making the experience as educational as it is enjoyable.

The adventure begins in West Glacier, just outside the entrance to Glacier National Park. From there, you will set out in drift boats, the preferred fishing method of northwest Montana. Each boat comfortably seats two anglers, and larger groups can arrange for additional boats. Throughout the day, you can relax and fish while your guide navigates the river, allowing you to focus fully on the experience. A riverside lunch provides a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy the fresh mountain air before continuing downstream.

As you float past towering cliffs, pine forests, and wide-open valleys, keep your eyes open for wildlife such as bald eagles, deer, and even the occasional bear along the banks. By late afternoon, you will return to West Glacier with lasting memories of a day spent fishing and exploring in one of the most spectacular natural settings in North America. This full-day fly fishing trip is a perfect way to experience the beauty, serenity, and adventure of Montana.
