Your expertly trained guide will provide a safety briefing before you set out for your whitewater adventure down on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. You'll enjoy the spectacular sights of Glacier National Park and the mellow waters during the first section of the float. Then, the canyon will narrow, and the fun will begin! Paddle your small group raft through a series of pools and rapids that bring plenty of excitement but mellow enough for the whole family to enjoy.

Feeling a bit warm on a hot summer day? Jump off the raft and take a quick swim or cool off when the waters are calm and safe!

If you're looking for more fun on the river, our Full-Day Whitewater Raft & Lunch trip will provide you with more scenery and more time on the water. Enjoy a delicious lunch on the riverside before hitting the rapids and ending in West Glacier.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does this trip last?
This trip lasts between 2 ½ and 3 ½hours depending on the time of year and conditions. In early season (May and early June) the water is running high and trips move quicker with less paddling. In the late season (July-Sept) the water levels are lower and the float takes more time.
Which river will we be rafting on?
The whitewater float is on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River, one of Montana's Wild and Scenic rivers. You'll run 8 miles of river through the John F. Stevens Canyon with 9 class II-III rapids.
Is whitewater rafting safe?
Whitewater rafting comes with an inherent assumption of risk and it is your responsibility to adequately assess such risks before participating. Professional river guides undergo extensive training and are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to keep both themselves and you safe while on the river.
How likely is it to fall in the river? Will I get hurt?
All whitewater rafting participants assume the risk that they may fall into the river. Consider the time of year when you plan to book and the relative river flows at that time (i.e. you're more likely to fall in during the run-off season). Professionally trained river guides will provide safety instructions prior to departure and are certified in wildness first aid and lifesaving techniques.
What are the river flows currently like?
Rivers flows across Montana will change with the seasons and weather patterns. Traditionally, the early season (May/June) will bring more run-off resulting in faster flows and larger rapids while the later season (July-Sept) can see reduced run-off and slower flows with milder rapids.
