Description
Visit Glacier National Park with a local guide to lead the way, with hotel pick-up included from Kalispell, Whitefish, or West Glacier. Get to know the western regions of Glacier National Park near West Glacier, Lake McDonald, and Polebridge, all led by a knowledgeable expert.
Beginning with local pick-up, you'll make your way toward the park with the first stop at Hungry Horse Dam, where the steep canyons and towering scale of the mountains are visible. Stand above one of the largest concrete arch dams in the country, with sweeping views of the Hungry Horse Reservoir, and stretch your legs before heading deeper into the park.
Next, you'll make your way into West Glacier and Apgar Village — the laid-back gateway to Glacier National Park. Wander the lakeshore, browse a few shops, or simply soak it in. Your guide will help you find the best places to enjoy the day while sharing local knowledge about the region.
A leisurely drive along the lake leads to Lake McDonald Lodge, a beloved mountain retreat full of Swiss chalet architecture and rustic beauty. Enjoy the view with plenty of time to stroll the historic dock, spot the painted pebbles shimmering beneath the water, or take a short walk along the lakeshore trail.
The afternoon takes you north to Polebridge — one of Glacier's best-kept secrets. This off-the-grid community is pure Montana charm, anchored by the legendary Polebridge Mercantile and its famous wood-fired pastries. Grab a huckleberry bear claw and enjoy the unhurried pace of the North Fork.
End your Montana adventure with a relaxed afternoon drive home, and if time allows, make a few extra stops along the way to soak up the last views of the region.
