Description

Looking to explore the snow-covered forests of Northwest Montana just outside of Whitefish? With a Half-Day Snowmobile Rental you can ride a modern and high-quality snowmobile to rip through fresh powder and groomed trails in the mountains of Montana.

With this 4-hour snowmobile rental, you'll depart from the meeting point after gearing up and getting comfortable with your sled. Begin climbing expertly groomed snowmobile trails to catch fantastic views of the surrounding area while riding through the foothills of the Whitefish Range, on a clear day you may even see the towering peaks of Glacier National Park in the distance! As you race through the trees of Stillwater State Forest be sure to slow down and stop to enjoy the view of the snow-covered peaks and valleys of Northwest Montana.

Safety is always our top priority when renting equipment and each rental will be provided with a trail map, two-way radio, and emergency GPS locator if you really get turned around. Trails are well marked and easy to follow so as long as you feel confident in your ability to navigate you're sure to come back safe and sound.

If you're a more experienced snowmobiler, there is plenty of great terrain for you to tear up as you rip through the fresh powder. If you have never ridden a snowmobile or consider yourself a beginner then the groomed trails provide a perfect training ground for you to build your skills and comfort.

The Sleds

What should I wear for snowmobiling?
For snowmobiling, we recommend wearing warm layers and ski gear. However we rent EVERYTHING you could possibly need for the cold. Don’t stress too much if your closet has more paisleys than parkas! Helmets are included in all rentals.
Can I rent a single snowmobile?
For safety purposes, there is a two sled minimum with every booking. If still you would only like to rent one sled you will need to book a guided tour.
Is there a minimum age to ride a snowmobile?
Snowmobile drivers must be 16 years of age. All driver’s must possess a valid drivers license. All ages are welcome to ride!
Is snowmobiling beginner friendly?
Snowmobiling is a fun and exciting way for the whole family to enjoy the outdoors. If this is your first time on a snowmobile we strongly encourage booking a guided experience rather than a rental. An experienced and knowledgeable local guide will make sure to show you the best spots while keeping you safe.
Can I snowmobile in Glacier National Park?
No, snowmobiles are not allowed within the boundaries of Glacier National Park. This trip will take place north of Whitefish near the community of Olney which is about 45 miles from the park.
