Description

Join us on a full-day whitewater rafting adventure near Glacier National Park for a memorable experience! On this epic trip, you'll float by towering glacial peaks and run some of the best river rapids in Northwest Montana. Plus, enjoy a delicious riverside lunch on our fifteen-mile ride down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River.

This whitewater rafting trip is perfect for families looking for a special day out and away from the summer crowds of the park. From the river, enjoy stunning mountain views in the remote southern regions of Glacier National Park, and keep an eye out for eagles and osprey nesting near the river.

Begin your day of rafting through a scenic stretch of the river before lunch, then run the biggest stretch of whitewater in the afternoon. In late summer, we often run the whitewater in the morning and spend the afternoon floating and swimming through the quieter stretches of the Middle Fork.

Our deli-style lunch buffet includes fresh bread, meats, cheeses, salads, fruits, and vegetables. We can accommodate most dietary restrictions and preferences with advance notice.

If you're looking for a shorter day on the river, our Glacier Park Half-Day Whitewater Raft trip will provide you with more scenery and more time on the water. Enjoy a delicious lunch on the riverside before hitting the rapids and ending in West Glacier.

If you prefer a more laid-back float trip, you can sit back and relax with a Scenic Float on the Flathead River.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does this trip last?
This trip lasts about 5 ½ hours depending on the time of year and conditions. In early season (May and early June) the water is running high and trips move quicker with less paddling. In the late season (July-Sept) the water levels are lower and the trip takes more time.
What's included with lunch?
Lunch is served deli-style with fresh bread, meats, cheeses, salads, fruits, and vegetables served buffet style. With advanced notice, most dietary restrictions/preferences can be accommodated.
Which river will we be rafting on?
The whitewater float is on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. You'll raft 15 miles of river beginning or ending through John Stevens Canyon. Depending on where river flows are the best you'll either put in further upstream and begin with an easy scenic rafting experience or if later in the season start the day off with whitewater before settling in for a laid-back afternoon float.
Is whitewater rafting safe?
Whitewater rafting comes with an inherent assumption of risk and it is your responsibility to adequately assess such risks before participating. Professional river guides undergo extensive training and are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to keep both themselves and you safe while on the river.
How likely is it to fall in the river? Will I get hurt?
All whitewater rafting participants assume the risk that they may fall into the river. Consider the time of year when you plan to book and the relative river flows at that time (i.e. you're more likely to fall in during the run-off season). Professionally trained river guides will provide safety instructions prior to departure and are certified in wildness first aid and lifesaving techniques.
What are the river flows like?
Rivers flows across Montana will change with the seasons and weather patterns. Traditionally, the early season (May/June) will bring more run-off resulting in faster flows and larger rapids while the later season (July-Sept) can see reduced run-off and slower flows with milder rapids.
