Want to fly fish in Glacier National Park? Join a guided half-day or full-day guided fishing trip on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. Leaving from West Glacier, you'll wet a line in one of the most gorgeous parts of the country as you float the southern border of Glacier National Park. Our experienced and friendly guides will lead 1-2 people through crystal-clear waters, abundant with native trout species.

Half-day floats last ~4 hours while full-day floats are ~7-8 hours long. All the rods, flies and local knowledge are included! You'll be fishing for Western Cut-throat, Rainbow Trout, Whitefish and more on this beautiful river that makes up the boundary of Glacier Park.

Half-Day vs Full-Day

  • Timing - Half day trips (4 Hours) may be booked for either the AM or PM time slots available. Full days (7-8 Hours) please select AM departure time only.

  • Inclusions - Snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, cooler, gear, guide, raft, shuttle back to meeting point. Full-Day trips include Lunch.

Fishing Cancellation Policy

Due to private guide and boat reservations, cancellation is required 72 hours in advance for a full refund. Cancellations before 48 hours will receive a 50% refund and cancellations under 48 hours from trip start will not receive a refund.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are we actually fly fishing inside Glacier Park?
We will be fishing along the southern boundary of Glacier National Park. That means when we pull over to right side of the river you're in the National Park! We do not need to drive through the park entrance to begin fishing.
Which section of the Middle Fork river will we be fishing?
Your guide will help determine which section to float based on the river flows, what is fishing well and if you are doing a half vs. full day. Generally, the area we fish is between Essex, MT and Blankenship bridge just down from West Glacier.
What kind of fish are there in Glacier National Park?
Westslope cutthroat trout and rainbow trout are some of the more popular fish. You'll also find bull trout, lake trout, brook trout, burbot (ling), northern pike, lake whitefish, mountain whitefish, brook trout, grayling and kokanee salmon.
Do I need a fishing license on the Middle Fork of the Flathead river?
While you do not need a license when fishing inside of Glacier National park, you DO need a license for our guided fishing trips along the Middle Fork of the Flathead, which makes up the southern boundary of Glacier National Park. You can purchase your Montana Fishing license at https://ols.fwp.mt.gov/
