Do I need a Glacier National Park Site Pass?
Yes, your party will need to carry at least one valid site pass. Valid site passes include the America the Beautiful Pass, Military Pass, Senior Pass, or Access Pass. If you do not carry an annual or lifetime pass, a single 7-day vehicle pass can be purchased exclusively for Glacier National Park.
Where can I purchase a Glacier National Park Site Pass?
If you do not carry a valid annual or lifetime pass, you can purchase a 7-day Private Vehicle Pass online from recreation.gov.
Will we see any wildlife in Glacier National Park?
Wildlife viewings in Glacier National Park are not uncommon, but there is no guarantee and sightings are not as frequent as in parks like Yellowstone. If you're lucky you may spot bighorn sheep, mountain goats, moose, or a bear!
Is Going-to-the-Sun Road open in the winter?
Partially. Going-to-the-Sun Road is typically open to full vehicle traffic from late June through early/mid October. Glacier National Park is still open in the winter and the scenic road is plowed year-round to Lake McDonald Lodge from the West Glacier Entrance. Hiker, biker, and ski access is available beyond most vehicle closures throughout the seasons.
How is this different from the group Going-to-the-Sun Road day tour?

The GTSR Group Day Tour operates on a fixed schedule with up to 13 guests. This private tour gives your group a dedicated guide, full itinerary control, and the flexibility to spend time wherever you want in the park. Both tours are led by the Glacier Institute.

What is the best area of Glacier National Park to visit on a private tour?

It depends on your group's interests. Going-to-the-Sun Road and Logan Pass are the most iconic and accessible areas. Many Glacier on the east side offers excellent wildlife viewing and classic alpine hikes. Two Medicine is quieter and ideal for those seeking solitude. Our local guides can help you weigh the options based on your group's fitness level and what is currently open.
