About Flathead Lake
Flathead Lake is 28 miles long and up to 15 miles wide at some points. It is tucked in the Flathead Valley and flanked by the Swan and Mission mountain ranges to the East and Blacktail Ski Resort and the Salish mountains to the East. Public beaches and parks are scattered around the lake, making it easily accessible for fishing, swimming, boating, and camping. There are fantastic tours, boat rentals, and other great things to do.
Popular places on Flathead include Bigfork on the north end, which boasts incredible dining, quirky hotels, and a fantastic theatre. Polson, at the south end, is the largest town on the lake with a stunning view and our favorite golf course. Little towns like Lakeside, Somers, and Woods Bay are dotted around the 185 miles of lake shore and well worth a visit.
